Subcategory 1 (EB21): Advanced Degree, Schedule A, Group I, Registered Nurse

REQUIREMENT 1. You have a job offer in the U.S..

REQUIREMENT 2. You offered job requires an Advanced Degree and Registered Nurse license in the state of intended employment.

Clarification 1. Advanced Degree is defined as a U.S. advanced degree or a foreign equivalent degree (or a baccalaureate degree plus at least five years of progressive work experience in the field).

Clarification 2. For an ordinary Registered Nurse position, an Advanced Degree is usually not required. However, it may be required for a Specialty Nurse, or a Supervisory Nurse.

Clarification 3. A Practical Nurse license does not meet the Registered Nurse license requirement.

Clarification 1. To meet the licensure requirements, you must have: (a) a full unrestricted permanent license to practice nursing in the state of your intended employment, or (b) your CGFNS (Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools) Certificate, or (c) evidence that you have passed the NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses).

Clarification 2. An evidence of passing a CGFNS Nursing Skills Examination cannot substitute CGFNS Certificate (as it does not verify your proficiency in English).
